Usually most "horror" games have shock tactics to scare you, like doom 3, whenever the lights go out, suddenly zombies appear, or pop out from behind you. #stalker #stalkerisntscary #stalkercallofpripyat #stalkerjumpscare. dead space is full of jumpscares which naturally shocks a lot of people, but the s.t.a.l.k.e.r. it's heavily focused on atmosphere which can you engrossed and make you tense (especially in the underground lab levels), but there's really nothing that'll shake you up too much. for example, heading into a dark cave and then seeing a snork running at you would be scary if it wasn't for the kinda crappy pathing. it's very creepy and wondering around the zone is really atmospheric but the combat is a bit too clunky to be genuinely scary.
